Bass Scales

Good reference guide for beginner or intermediate bass players. If nothing else it's a good excercise guide. I'm sure if you've been playing bass your whole life it might seem too basic, but it certainly gives a person some new scales to mess around with.

I am a beginner bass player and I use this book to practice my scales for 10-15 minutes every time I practice. It comes in handy when I'm jamming out and I need a quick look at what key to play in.

Don't buy

I have the Scales book for guitar so I bought this for my Bass education. I was surprised to find that the tab notation excluded the "G" string notes or high string notes of the four strings:GDAE in the tablature diagrams. It is shown in the fingerboard diagrams of all scales and the musical notation above the tablature diagrams, but not on the tablature measures. Also one page, number: 59 and 60 was inserted into the book upside down. This required dissassembling the plastic spiral spine from half of the book to re-insert the page back into the correct orientation. I will have to notate all 168 pages of all of the 1680 scale measures to add the missing tab notes, if I want to have a finished tablature edition. Since this was printed and manufactured in CHINA, I'm not surprised about it. Don't buy this as for a gift. It is not quality. I also note that the guitarist book has the same number of pages and is thicker because they used a heavier stock of paper at the time of that printing.

The best book I've found on the subject of the Patriot Act.

"Living Under the Patriot ACT: Educating a Society" is easily the best book that I've come across on the subject of the Patriot Act. I wasn't very familiar with the patriot act until I decided that, as an American, I should know more about how our government is taking steps to protect us.

I quickly learned that trying to make sense of the complete patriot act, as written, is extremely difficult. What the author does here is condense the patriot act down into an easily understood narrative (in layman's terms) that made learning easier for me. It also helped that he doesn't beat the reader over the head with his views on things, and gives nods to readers from both sides of the issue. I was very surprised by how much information is contained in this book, and also by how much information is not being made public about the patriot act.

I highly recommend this book as a learning tool for anyone interested in the patriot acts, or government in general. All Americans should have this information.

I have four other books that I'm using to prepare for my ib Standard Level exam in Chemistry. I've been going through creating notes using these books, and this book was the most useful. Some books skimp on some parts and then go over board on others. This book has evenly spread information and covers everything. If you compare it to the syllabus given by the ib, it covers everything. It also has some interesting tid bits on the side. It is attractively laid out, and easy to use. If you can only buy one book for your ib chemistry exam, this one is great. (I also recommend the IB Study Guide for Chemistry, if you can buy two books)

I read this book by the theologist Hal Lindsey many years ago. It was a book written in the 80's about the apocalypse armageddon or the end of the world to come. If you thought Nostradsamous was accurate, you haven't read about Hal Lindsey's revelations based on the bible, prophets such as Nostradamous and others. You wanted to know who's going to be involved in the serbia war, the countries involved in ww3, the armageddon, apocalyse, etc. Then this book will blow your mind at its predicted accuracy on the end results of what's going on right now in serbia, nato, the russians, china, ww3, the anti-chirist ( he tells you his identity ) and the nuclear halacaust and the end of the world to come in the few short years we have left before were just lke the dinosaurs.

It scared the hell out of me.

The first time i read "The Late Great Planet Earth" i was in my early 20's. At that time it didn't have that much of an inpack on me. Now i'm 54 and have re-read the whole series. Put it this way,,,,i have returned to church after a 25 year absence. Draw your own conclusion.

Required reading 101

For those who don't know much about these times we are living in, this is required reading. It's a great deal to get two books in one. You can even get the used books of this that they offer for 99 cents. Even with shipping cost of around 4 bucks and change (something like that) it's still cheaper than a store, if you can find it. If you find something he says that you may not agree with, fine, spit out the little bone, and keep reading. If I wrote a book you don't have to agree with every little thing I say. But the rest is extremely good information. Your faith will increase, I believe, by reading it along side your Bible.
